Bearded dragons can run up to 14.5 kms per hour. But for the mostly they are quite sedentary lizards. They love to bask and cuddle.
Bearded dragons show their interested in love by bobbing their heads up and down at possible mates — the male bobs his head rapidly and the female responds with a slower head nod. They will also wave at each other to show interest. They often wave to get your attention too, especially if they see food coming.
Captive bearded dragons can live up to ten years, as long as they are kept physically and mentally healthy. Feed them on a varied diet and let experience hunting and stalking prey. They love to eat insects like crickets, woodies and worms as well as veggies
One way you can determine the age of a younger dragon is by measuring the bearded dragon from head to tail. Below is an approximate growth guide. This will be dependent upon diet and husbandry Length Age in Months 7-8cm. 0-1 months 15-20cm. 2 months Up to 30cm 3-4 months Up to 40cm. 6 months Up 50cm. 12-18 months
Bearded dragons are able to regulate their body temperature by changing the shades of the color of the skin from light to dark and vice versa.bearded dragon basking
They prefer a temperature range of 21-32c and must be able to move between temperature zones. Basking areas should be made available at one end of the enclosure and cooler spots at the other.
