The Phlogius rubiseta is an impressive Australian tarantula known for its hardy nature and fast growth. These spiders thrive in warm, humid environments and do well in secure enclosures with deep substrate for burrowing. Feed them a variety of live insects such as crickets, roaches, mealworms or superworms, adjusting prey size as they mature.

Housing:
Provide a well-ventilated enclosure with 10–15 cm of moist substrate (coco fibre or peat mix) to allow natural burrowing behaviour. Keep temperatures around 24–28°C with moderate humidity, and include hides and minimal décor to reduce stress.

Caring for Spiderlings:
Spiderlings require smaller enclosures like deli cups or small tubs with 3–5 cm of damp substrate. Offer tiny prey such as pinhead or weanie crickets or small roaches once or twice a week. Keep their environment slightly more humid than adults and avoid overfeeding or excessive handling.
